Ultra-Fast Broadband (GPON) is described as a residential fibre to home users which provides down-link speeds of up to 100 Mbps and up-link speeds of up to 50 Mbps.Ultra-Fast Broadband uses the GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) system. This allows the cost of the service to be remarkably reduced for the end customer. This connection may be best choice for customers, home users, high up-loaders and Voice over IP users.

What is UFB (GPON)

The Ultra-Fast Broadband plan is a government program to expand and develop New Zealand’s broadband services. The NZ government is sharing $1.35 billion to the initiative with significant amounts of private co-investment also being contributed by the government’s Ultra-fast Broadband partners.
